Who is Kurtz Ersa Asia?
From the German Spessart, Kurtz Ersa gradually expanded overseas. In addition to internationalization in America, Kurtz Ersa took its first step into Asia in 1987 by establishing a subsidiary in Hong Kong. The extraordinary growth in China led to subsidiaries in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Ho Chi Minh City. All subsidiaries are managed by Kurtz Ersa Asia Ltd. in Hong Kong.

Kurtz Ersa presents Sustainability Report 2021
Kurtz Ersa wants to have completed its transformation to a CO2-neutral company by 2029. The company has now documented its progress towards this goal for the first time in a separate sustainability report. The compilation of all relevant data and information with reference to the fiscal year 2021 provides information about ecological, economic and social aspects at Kurtz Ersa and demonstrates the sustainable transformation at the traditional mechanical engineering company in many ways.
Kurtz Ersa receives bronze in ESG Rating
The ESG rating was the next step on the way to becoming a sustainable company. ESG stands for Environment, Social and Governance and measures the voluntary contribution of companies to sustainable development that goes beyond legal requirements. In the first ESG rating, the Kurtz Ersa Group achieved a bronze medal at the first attempt.
Kurtz Ersa new member of the UN Global Compact
Since June 06, 2022, the Kurtz Ersa Group has been a member of the UN Global Compact (UNGC). Kurtz Ersa thus voluntarily supports important developments on the global world market. The focus is on the protection of human and workers´ rights, anti-corruption and environmental protection.

Founding Legend
It was in 1779 during the long and prosperous reign of Emperor Qianlong from the Qing Dynasty in China, when a smart German visionary called Mr. Kurtz built in the presence of the five elements a forge. The location was in the German Spessart forest, were plenty of wood [木; mù] existed which was burnt in fire [火; huǒ] . The forge was built on solid earth [土; tǔ]. Metal [金; jīn] was forged by a gigantic hammer which was driven by a waterwheel energized from a stream water [水; shuǐ].
Up to now the forge still exists and the interaction of the five elements brought prosperity to Kurtz Ersa.
In 2014 the forge was converted into the HAMMERMUSEUM and presents the exhibition “Living Technology since 1779” with more than 240 years of company and industrial history.
