“Discover Quality: Boost Your Profitability”

On June 25, 2025, Kurtz Ersa and its local sales partner, Long Shine, welcomed over 120 participants from Malaysia’s electronics industry to the SMT & THT Tech Day at the Eastin Hotel in Penang. Penang, known as Malaysia’s “Silicon Island,” is home to many international electronics and semiconductor companies. This made it an ideal location for an in-depth discussion about improving SMT & THT soldering quality and preventing common soldering failures through proper production equipment parameter settings. These improvements can significantly increase profitability for electronics manufacturers.

Industry-Relevant Topics and Practical Presentations

The event featured hands-on, professional presentations, complemented by active Q&A sessions and valuable knowledge exchanges. A key highlight was the reflow soldering of large BGAs, particularly those up to 100 mm in size, which are commonly found in AI-driven PCBs. Experts provided targeted strategies to prevent cold solder joints, which are critical for the reliability and efficiency of these complex components. Other presentations covered effective stencil printing inspection methods, high-quality rework processes, and quality management in hand soldering, including MES integration.

Dynamic Knowledge and Experience Exchange

The extensive questions and answers following each presentation clearly demonstrated the attendees’ high level of engagement. Participants particularly valued the exchange of experiences, as many attendees shared their own practical insights, contributing to collective learning. Networking beyond the presentations further enhanced professional interactions and deepened industry relationships.

Long-Standing Partnership Builds Trust

The strong and long-standing customer relationships fostered by Long Shine significantly contributed to the event’s success. This trusted network within Malaysia’s electronics industry was pivotal to the high turnout and active participation. The close collaboration between Kurtz Ersa and Long Shine not only ensures first-class local customer support but also establishes a foundation for continued success and ongoing development of Malaysia’s electronics manufacturing sector.

The intensive exchange and active networking concluded the successful day with numerous valuable practical insights.
